How we use your personal information
Last updated: 30 October 2026
This notice explains what personal information Ecoscape Construction Group collects when you contact us or request a quote, why we need it, how we keep it safe and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
1. Who we are
The responsible party is Ecoscape Construction Group, a trading name of Dazit Trading CC, a residential construction, landscaping, solar and water business in South Africa.
Email: projects@ecoscapegroup.co.za
Phone / WhatsApp: +27 83 331 6545
Website: www.ecoscapegroup.co.za
2. What we collect
When you use our quote form, we collect:
- your name, email address and phone number, and whether that number is on WhatsApp
- your suburb or estate
- the service you need, your budget range and your preferred start date
- anything you tell us about your project, and any plans, drawings or photos you upload
If you call, email or WhatsApp us, we also receive the details you choose to share in that conversation. We collect this information directly from you.
Our website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Like all websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the site and keep it secure.
3. Why we use it
- to respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation or site visit
- to prepare and follow up on your quote
- if you go ahead, to plan, deliver and support your project
We process this information because you have asked us to take these steps, and to carry out a contract with you (POPIA section 11(1)(b)). Providing your details is voluntary, but without your name and a way to contact you we cannot respond or quote.
We do not sell your information. We will not send you marketing messages unless you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
4. Where your information goes
Enquiries from our website are sent securely to our own business accounts. We use these service providers (operators), who process information only on our behalf:
- Google (Gmail, Google Sheets and Google Drive): to receive your enquiry, keep a record of it and store any plans you upload. Uploaded files are kept in a private folder that only we can access. They are never shared by public link.
- Netlify: hosts our website.
- WhatsApp (Meta): only if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp.
These providers may store information on servers outside South Africa. We use them because they are bound by agreements and laws that give your information a level of protection similar to POPIA (section 72).
We may also need to share information if required by law.
5. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become a project, including any uploaded plans, are deleted automatically after 12 months. If you become a client, we keep your project records for as long as needed to complete and support your project and to meet our legal and tax obligations.
6. How we protect it
Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Enquiries are stored in password-protected business accounts with two-step verification. Only file types needed for plans (PDF, photos and CAD drawings) are accepted, and uploads are checked before they are saved.
7. Your rights
You may ask us to:
- confirm what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
- correct information that is wrong or out of date
- delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
- stop using your information for a particular purpose, including marketing
To make a request, email projects@ecoscapegroup.co.za with the subject "POPIA request". Our Information Officer will respond. We may need to confirm your identity first.
8. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator:
